ABOUT BROWARD COUNTY LIBRARY STORY TIME PROGRAMS FOR KIDS AND THE SUZUKI MUSIC ACADEMY'S KIDS PLAY FOR KIDS PROGRAMS Story Time at the various Broward County Libraries are provided by Broward County Library Youth Services and are a valuable resource for Broward County's children and their parents. This year, children musicians from America's Suzuki Music Academy again visit Broward County Libraries' Story Time Programs. For these special appearances, the Academy's acclaimed children musicians, ages 2 and up, present an enriching and enjoyable program with performances of classical music and traditional children's song, along with interactive activities especially designed for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers who attend Broward Library Story Time programs. The first of the Broward County Library Story Time visits took place at the Broward Stirling Road Library on February 16, 2005. Academy children violinists were given a great reception from the infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and their parents who attended the library's two Story Time morning sessions. Broward Stirling Road Library Youth Services staff, Anitra, Martha, and Sandy, helped to make the children musicians' visit to Story Time a great success. Special thanks goes to Nancy Murray of Broward County Libraries Youth Services Division and the Youth Services staff at the various Broward Libraries for helping to organize Story Time visits. Road Library - Wednesday, February 16, 2005 ABOUT THE ACADEMY AND THE BROWARD LIBRARY SYSTEM The Academy has a long association with The Broward County Libraries, performing classical music concerts at many libraries throughout the county, including Broward Southwest Regional Library, Hollywood Library, Hallandale Library, Broward BCC/South Regional Library, Davie/Cooper City Library, the Ft. Lauderdale Main Library, Lauderhill Mall Library, Broward North Regional Library, and Imperial Point Library. In addition to performing concerts at the various Broward libraries and the current project of special appearances at Story Times, over the years, the Broward Library system and Suzuki Music Academy have co-sponsored several special international cultural exchange projects and exhibitions involving children's art, children's books, and classical music for children. |
